

Dr. Brandy Lovelady Mitchell is the Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Kent Intermediate School District, using district data and Kent ISD’s organizational mission,
purpose and goals to lead, to facilitate, to coordinate and to implement strategic actions that create more equitable and inclusive practices and policies. She is an educational leader who has worked locally, statewide and nationally. Brandy is respected by regional leaders and educators, having provided professional learning opportunities, created and maintained strategic partnerships and made recommendations related to Kent ISD’s programming, practices and processes.
She has been a Curriculum Consultant/Designer at Davenport University, Co-Facilitator of Kent ISD’s Teacher Leadership Cohort, an Adjunct Professor, Grand Valley State University, Cornerstone University and a Guest Instructor, Kent Intermediate School District/Ferris State University. She has also served as an Adjunct Instructor for the University of Phoenix, a Guidance Classroom Teacher/School Counselor at Kentwood Public Schools/Pinewood Middle School, teaching courses to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, course-related research, advising, referrals, 504 Plan monitoring, diversity and equity champion and some administrative tasks.
